Glenn's CARSTAR philosophy focuses on caring for our customers and We have demonstrated this through our support of our Lincoln community. Glenn's has given deserving families vehicles that we have repaired and refurbished with the "Recycled Rides" program. We have trained hundreds of first responders on new technology in cars to help them better respond at the scene of an accident. We raise money for the Nebraska chapter of Make-A-Wish.
Glenn's CARSTAR Donates the Gift of Transportation
Santa awarded car keys to a domestic violence survivor who desperately needed transportation.
The Lincoln, NE mother of three received keys to a repaired and refurbished Chrysler Concorde as part of the “Recycled Rides” program.
“Recycled Rides” is a community service project where body shops and insurance companies partner to repair a salvage vehicle and give it to a deserving person who needs transportation to improve their lives.
The woman was nominated by Community Action of Lincoln and chosen by a “Recycled Rides” committee. She was walking to work in sub-zero temperatures when she received the news that she had been selected to receive the car. She is currently a participant in Community Action’s Supportive Housing Program.
State Farm Insurance donated the salvage 2004 Chrysler Concorde. Glenn’s CARSTAR in Lincoln repaired and refurbished the 2004 Chrysler Concorde. Platinum sponsor Performance Chrysler/Jeep/Dodge/Ram of Lincoln donated many parts.
This is the first time that Glenn’s CARSTAR has partnered with Community Action on a Recycled Rides project. “Repairing this car has been a labor of love. Our staff worked hard to make the donation a reality,“ Hillhouse said.
Hillhouse said other businesses who donated parts, services and cash to the Recycled Rides project were: Audatex/Auto Watch, Cintas, Firestone Complete Auto Care, Ryan Glock of Inspro Insurance, J.D. Casey Paint, Mr Amoto, National Auto Body Council and Serendipities Cupcakes.

“We are honored to receive this prestigious award for the business my father started almost fifty years ago,” said Allan Hillhouse. “It is a great honor for our body shop to be recognized by the BBB as a company that deals with our customers, insurance partners, employees and vendors in an ethical manner.”
Glenn's CARSTAR Hosts Car Seat Check Up
Approximately 90% of car seats checked in Lancaster County are not properly installed or used correctly. This may significantly decrease the protection the seat is designed to provide in the event of a crash. Is your child's car seat properly installed?
Glenn's CARSTAR hosted a free car seat check event in the fall of 2014. We partnered with Safe Kids Lincoln-Lancaster County for the fall 2014 event. They checked 19 seats that evening and provided one family with a car seat.
Make-A-Wish Nebraska Donation
The Make-A-Wish Nebraska Chapter received a check for $1,645 from the Lincoln/Lincoln CARSTAR shops. The donation money was earned from selling raffle tickets and mulligans at our Eleventh Annual Golf Tournament held at Quarry Oaks.
Lauren Piller from the Lincoln office accepted the check. The Make-A-Wish Foundation is the charity for CARSTAR locations across the nation.
